Bobber

Ashley bathing, Ontario California, July 1985
Bobber on a line
Keeps the weights
From falling down

He works each day
Never much to say
Quiet strain

On heavy days
He was found
A bit deeper down

But usually floats
The same

Keys

Jon and Ben, Wolf Creek, Ogden Utah, December 2005
A key to happiness -
Recognize!
That feeling –
"Enough of this!"
"I need to change!"

Now think it through.

A second key is -
Do!

Now - Hop to!

Son-Light

Charlotte Rose, Mesa Arizona, September 2013

A Single streetlamp,
Through a window,
Casts a image,
On my wall.

It never changes,
‘Til the morning,
When it fades –
To not at all.

Son-Light also
O’rewhelms the darkness,
And enemy,
Of my Soul.

Invite Him linger,
Ever Longer,
As a Healer –
Never Go!

Buttress

Dad crashed when dating mom, Mesa Arizona, 1956
Which accident –
Lingers longest?
Which wounds –
Refuse to heal?
Which disease –
Returns the stronger?
Which scars –
Do not conceal?

Faith can buttress,
One’s emotion.
Christ forgives,
The repentant soul.
But will man
Return this favor?
When he's peering
Down the road.

Ah! Those who forget
This morning’s breakfast.
Or can’t recall a movie scene.
Count themselves a lucky fellow
When their head the pillow seize.

But what of those who see the detail,
Remember pain and feel the bite?
Memory vivid as painted palette,
As Silence stills the deepest night?

They must see another's burden -
They must feel another's plight!
Then compare their own emotion
Force their pain to take its flight!

Oh! For as bad as we have had it -
Others have it so much worse!
When we've healed and passed through crisis -
We must turn and lift another's curse!

My wife officially resigned from the HUSD School Board today, so she can focus on beating her cancer.  She served for ten years, resigning her third term two years early.

Lighting

Charlotte Rose and Olivia Mae, Mesa Arizona, September 2013
With the Lighting set Right –
Could every Picture Ever taken,
Be a work of Art?

Well, No - Likely not.
You’d also need to crop!

In some cases a lot!
