Gate Latch, School House Graveyard, Strawberry Arizona, April 2015

Appreciation blooms
Amidst the tombs
After the loss
Stripped of gloss

Never hauled
Water for all? –
Then you haven’t “Thanks”
For a tap on the wall.

Sheep Bridge, Verde River, Bloody Basin Wilderness Arizona March 2015

I hear the sound
Inside my head –
It’s someone’s voice
Though long time dead.

Emotion rush –
Tears my eye –
Oh how I miss
Their loving sigh.

The surgery seemed to go fine.  The tumor and a large amount of surrounding tissue was removed.  We hope that all lingering cancers cells were also removed.

Denise is scheduled for surgery on Tuesday.   She passed all her tests and is cleared to have the tumor and whatever else they find cut out.  We are actually relieved about this.  It does give us some hope.  There are complications because of the damage to the chest tissue caused by the radiation.  This may extend the healing process.

Our Second Home, Mission Viejo California, Mar 2015

I lift my head
Off the bed
Through the door
A list of chores
Glancing back
A modest shack
I see a bee
Now three
Walk past the grass
The sun is warm
On my arm
There’s much to do
Here -
Store -
There -
More -

Just me and you

And soon we’re done
We turn and run
Back home to where
We love and care
