Parade Day, July 4th, 2015 Show Low Arizona

Awakened by a sob –
From one I love.

Sleep flees from me!
An easy thing –
An open heart –
To sooth the hurt,
Til breathing calms,
And sleep returns.

Now I lie awake,
Staring in the dark,
Waiting for –
Worry, Angst, depart.

During Denise's surgery, Dr. Wascher found a second cancerous tumor, which he also removed.  The surgery was much longer and more invasive than originally planned.

Junk Runner at the Showlow parade, July 2015

I want to go and find what’s new –
Let’s go and spend the weekend too –
I know places you don’t need shoes,
I want to spend the time with you.

Curtis in Mormon Battalion Regalia, Sharpcreek Arizona June 2015

A Million times
A Billion times
One Humanity

A story each
Though common themes
Father – Mother
Birth and Death

Few are great
Some live long
Not each is hope
Not all belong

But most are loved
Though some ne’r find

A different row
Each one will plow
And what they learn
Forms how and why
They do

Olivia in the Rincon Wilderness Arizona, May 2015

I dug a hole –
And thought about
Some folks - no shovel own.

Inside the hole
I placed a tree –
Then filled around
Then watered we.

Someday I’ll eat
A Nectarine –
Plucked from
This leafy tree.

An act of faith –
That some n’er know
Nor care to see.
