Continued On

Charlotte, Gilbert, Arizona October, 2015

She was two –
Pretty dress and shoes,
We walked through sand,
Loosely held her hand.

She tripped and fell
Both looking down
Her other hand
Toward the ground
Her knees she bent
Her body limp
Knew t’was next!

But I could tell –
And quickly held,
She did not land
Upon the sand.

More surprised –
She realized –
Then looking up
With smiling eyes
I smiling nod
And continued on.

Distance

Melanie and Jon, October 2015, Gilbert Arizona

Do you have a favorite song
That makes you stop and listen long?
Do you have a favorite Psalm?
You read at times as healing balm?

Busy lives so full of care
We scarcely make the time to share
To ponder on what ought to be
To closed the distance ‘tween you to me.

Journal

Denise started taking pain medicine today to help with pain that is about two inches above the tumor on her chest.  I'm guessing it is the tumor on the right lung's upper lobe that is causing the pain.  She also signed up for hospice today too.

Aroma

Scouts at Bear Canyon Lake Campsite, Arizona June 2015

On a drive,
In towering pine –
Cresting hill,
I breathing smell,
Fresh cut timber.

Music play –
Now drowned away,
By pitchy ponderosa.

Tunes hardly there –
My senses bare –
By cool, clear air
Approaching camp
Spirits jump and stamp
How soon? Not long!
Can we hold on?
