Morning Dew

Doves in Love, Backyard, Gilbert Arizona December 2015

Snippets of thought
Not fully wrought
Far from ripe
Nonsensical tripe

Yet in my head
Take up stead
Come and go
A fleeting doe

Paths

Botcher Bonfire, Shi Shi Beach Washington 1998

Every journey uneven
Each route unfair
No single person
Climbs every stair

One does the dying
One offers care
Both do the crying
Hope and despair

Two full of laughter
Each goes away
Memories will falter
Too rarely shared

Forgotten

Feeder Drive on a Farm Wagon, Seligman Arizona March 2016

Obscure histories
People long deceased
Places lost - no memories
Paths or’ grown with trees

Heirlooms cracked, set aside
Their meaning now forgot
Photos tucked between the page
No name upon the back

Lead, feed, clothe and shade
Their walk through sun and rain
Worth is no question I can ask
Effect on me beyond restrain

Stories filling reverie
In quiet times of still
Wander through my memory
Until free time is nil
