Beach Art, Shi Shi Beach Washington,, June 1999

Like a fall from a ledge
Or a hit on the head
Awake in a daze
Staring through haze

Up at the shelf
That held my self
Can’t make it back
What need I lack?

A blow so hard
A fall so far
A cut too deep
Disrupting sleep

It changed the view
And attitude
Ambition too
Can’t see it through

Pining rebound
Yet path not found
The way obscured
The how unlearned

How those around
Stand on the ground
They live their lives
Through loves and strife

But I the changed
They do not see
They cannot grasp
Just let it be

It may heal
I pray - appeal
Memory slow dims
Yet change remains

Charlotte Rose, March 2016, Gilbert Arizona
My number one fan
Is two feet tall
“Papa!”, she calls
All the day long

When the telephone rings
She needs more words
Or a song to sing –
Or help from birds.

Someday we’ll talk
Of earth and sky!
She warms my heart
When she’s brought by!
